The 2011 ACS (1-year) file will be released next week.�� Below is some information on the table changes.�� For the transportation folks, one new table is Worker Population For Workplace Geography.�� Also, those of us who have had trouble calculating an unemployment rate from the very detailed table, B23001, ��will be very excited to see a new table, B23025.�� This table contains only the basic information needed to calculate the unemployment rate, without any gender or age detail to wade through.��

 

Remember this file will have data for geographies (state, county, place, MCD) of 65,000+ population.��

U.S. Census Bureau Releases Documentation Supporting the 2011 American Community Survey (ACS) 1-Year Estimates

We are pleased to announce the first release of documentation in support of the 2011 ACS 1-year estimates scheduled for release on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012. This documentation offers ACS data users the opportunity to prepare for next week's data release.

 

New and notable information related to this release is available now on the 2011 Data Release page.

 

The Product Changes page explains which 2011 tables have been added, modified, and removed.

Table shells for the 2011 ACS 1-year estimates are also available on our FTP site.

 

The Documentation page includes code lists, subject definitions, group quarters definitions and instructions for applying statistical testing.

 

Lastly, the Reference Maps page includes reference maps for geographies published in the 2011 ACS 1-year estimates. These maps are provided for all 50 states and Puerto Rico, counties, and American Indian Areas (AIAs) and Alaska Native Areas (ANVSAs and ANRCs).
