[CTPP] due by April 30: ACS Program Review

https://www.census.gov/acs/www/about_the_survey/acs_program_review_faqs/ I know that today (March 26) was a busy day for many of you because of the CB release of the urbanized area list. But, while you are thinking about the Census Bureau, don't forget to submit your comments regarding ACS through their website. A little bird told me that the Census Bureau expected more traffic on this site, and they didn't know if people were waiting until the deadline, or if no one cared. OF COURSE WE (the transportation data community) CARE! There are 4 areas to which they are asking for comment: 1. data products 2. survey methodology 3.research and evaluation 4. communication AASHTO will be submitting a consolidated response via the CTPP Oversight Board, so you can give your feedback to Penelope Weinberger pweinberger(a)aashto.org<mailto:pweinberger(a)aashto.org> I have not seen a draft from AASHTO yet, so I can't tell if YOUR topic of interest will be included or not. If you mean CTPP data at the TAZ level, the Census Bureau says we will have a special CTPP tabulation of 2006 - 2010 data (for all geographies) by June 2013. If you are looking for the current 5-year data at residence, you may try AFF2. [CTPP] FHWA - FAUB/UAB etc.

I've tried to answer this question myself looking through listserv messages and various web pages. I'm trying to understand the process for FHWA's adjusted urban area (FAUB/UAB). I looked through what Ed sent on Feb 10th - FHWA updated page w/ guidance: http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/planning/census_issues/urbanized_areas_and_mpo_t ma/ This page has a ton of useful info but I didn't see anything on adjusted Urban Boundaries (FAUB/UAB/other). Does anyone know about this process, who is involved (State DOT, Cities, MPOs), and what the possible timelines are? I thought there was a move in FFC away from designating Urban vs. Rural Functional Class, perhaps things have changed and FHWA is no longer using adjusted boundaries this time around?
