[CTPP] Identify where your block groups & TAZs nest (and where they don't)

All, As we've been wrapping our minds around how to redelineate our block groups for better alignment with our TAZs, our colleague Joe Flood greatly aided this effort by creating a tool to identify nesting relationships from an input table of 2010 census blocks with the block groups and TAZs they belong to. He wrote it in Python [https://github.com/dvrpc/BlockGroupTAZ], but was kind enough to make an Executable (.exe) file [ https://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/folders/1sMZxn-9352uUV1Bc3Ys7_PzJ9e-OLn5L] for non-coders to download, run, upload an input table, and get the resulting outputs classifying TAZs and block groups by the following nesting relationships. - One TAZ = One Block Group - One TAZ = Many Block Groups - Many TAZs = One Block Group - Many TAZs = Many Block Groups - No Population With it, we've been able to map out where our geographies least align--the "Many TAZs = Many Block Groups" areas--and concentrate our efforts there before examining other areas. Additionally, our "No Population" TAZs are serving as good candidates for special block groups where we may have little to no population but an employment center we'd like reflected in the CTPP workplace tables and destinations for commute flows. Hello all-- I apologize for the confusion regarding the start of the 120 days in which PSAP participants have for the delineation phase. The 120 days starts upon receipt of materials. This ensures that updates are returned to the Census Bureau by (roughly) late May (if not sooner), which permits us sufficient time to review and upload updates into the TIGER database. 120 days from the date of the last training webinar is June 28, which is the Census Bureau's internal deadline to ensure that we stay on schedule for updating TIGER and then producing materials to send back to you to review during the PSAP verification phase. We appreciate your participation in PSAP, the time you spend reviewing and updating PSAP entities, and returning materials to us within 120 days of receipt. Thanks, Mara. By “we” do they mean the Philadelphia office or the Census Bureau at large? I’ve a meeting with our counties on Thursday and I’m hoping to give them a definitive due date for this work. Hi Megan, If you are listed as the primary participant for one or more counties, contact your district office to see when you should expect it or let them know you haven’t received it. There isn’t really much information in that you can’t find on the website now, so you can get started without having the letter.
