[CTPP News] 2020 LODES/LEHD dat (onTheMap) released April 4 2023

OnTheMap Update and 2020 LODES Data <https://www.census.gov/newsroom/press-releases/2023/onthemap-2020-lodes-data.html> April 4 — The U.S. Census Bureau released an updated version of its Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics (LEHD) Origin-Destination Employment Statistics (LODES) <https://lehd.ces.census.gov/data/#lodes> data product. The 8.0 version of LODES add data for 2020 and recast all historical LODES years into 2020 census blocks. The OnTheMap <https://onthemap.ces.census.gov/> application is updated to include these new LODES tabulations that will contain 19 years of data from 2002 to 2020. https://lehd.ces.census.gov/data/#lodes Alas, the r-package “lehdr” needs to be updated by the package authors. They probably need to specify if you’re looking to use 2020 Census geography (LODES8) or older, 2010 Census geography (LODES7). The lehdr package works great with LODES7!!! (I tested my existing r scripts to use lehdr. It’s not working for year 2020, yet.) The lehdr package authors are aware of the issue and are on it.) This is like the old U2 song “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” - - I’m trying to find the release schedule for the 2022 American Community Survey.
