I was wondering if anyone had a chance to figure out how to import the 2010 Redistricting
data or the new 2010 demographic profile information into the Access files on the

http://www2.census.gov/census_2010/03-Demographic_Profile/ . I have been confused about
this process myself. Does anyone know of any good guides to help? Any ideas or
suggestions? I have been using the new American FactFinder 2 too, but that has been a
slow and confusing process too.

This will be useful to SAS users. (Others can delete this -- sorry.)
You'll want to check and edit all the physical file locations in the code.
And search the text for instances of 'MN' and replace with your own state postal
code.
Finally, if there are pieces of this you don't need... just cut them out /* or
comment out*/

We loaded it into Access 2007 and set up SQL queries and relates to create various tables.
Relate the tables on the LOGRECNO and use the technical documentation from the census to
determine what summary leavel (SUMLEV) you need and what fields you want.
For example, for Arizona counties, a table with the basic race, ethnicity and housing
counts we related AZGeo2010 to the following tables on LOGRECNO: AZ00012010 and AZ00022010
; then used the following SQL query to create the table:
SELECT Azgeo2010.NAME, Azgeo2010.SUMLEV, Sum(Az000012010.P0010001) AS TOT_POP,
Az000012010.P0010003 AS WHITE,
