If I have this right, changes in the disability status question from the Census means that small area disability data (bg and tract) will not be available until 2013. Among other things, this variable is key for transit planning. Are there any suggestions or creative solutions regarding to this problem or will we be mapping 2000 data for several more years? [CTPP] Postponed - TRAINING OPPORTUNITY on using the CTPP based on three year ACS data

Hi All, Sorry for the late notice, CTPP data access software training is temporarily on hold. There will be no training tomorrow, but the training will be rescheduled and come on line soon. [CTPP] FactFinder 2

I must admit that every time I sit down and try to bolster my skills with the new FactFinder I find myself easily getting distracted and never getting anything accomplished. However, someday I hope to make it through all the tutorials and become as proficient with the new FactFinder as I am with the legacy version. Although it is not quite FactFinder, some colleagues turned me on to an interactive map done by the NY Times where you can begin to pull numbers from the 2010 Census. In less than 3 minutes and without going through any tutorials I was able to view the tract data for my home tract. [CTPP] TAZ User Guide

If you will be creating your Census TAZs and/or TADs attached is the User Guide. It was just released by the Census Bureau and very soon folks will be notified directly by the Bureau that their TAZ materials are available. I would recommend that you take a look at the User Guide before hand to familiarize yourself with the software and most of all IF YOU HAVE TO GET SPECIAL RIGHTS TO LOAD SOFTWARE OF YOUR COMPUTER YOU BEGIN NOW TO TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS TO OBTAIN ALL APPROVALS. We just got Michigan today, and I'm really confused. I downloaded the files from the web site, and I think I understand the 3 different files OK. If I could get them into FoxPro (which I use instead of Access) I'd be fine getting them merged. My problem is that WinZip (version 15.0) won't allow me to rename the .pl to .txt. Tells me that it's a read only file. I can't do anything with mi2010geo.pl -- can't read it in any software. Help! (And why does the bureau do this to us???)
